LL Cool J is bringing back his “Rock the Bells” music festival and the rap icon called on some hip hop heavy hitters to perform at the newly re-launched event.

LL will take the stage, of course, in a performance with his longtime DJ, DJ Z-Trip along with TrinaJadakissFat Joe and Remy MaRick RossIce CubeLil Kim, N.O.R.E with more to be announced. The event will take place at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The one-day extravaganza, founded by LL in 2018, serves as a hub for the hip hop elements – emcees, B-boys and B-girls and graffiti – to be on full display. In the past, musical guests such as NasSnoop Dogg and A Tribe Called Quest, came together to celebrate hip hop’s influence on Black culture and music overall.

“This festival is my way of showing love to the community of Hip-Hop and celebrating the incredible journey this culture has taken, going from DJ Kool Herc’s Sedgwick Avenue rec room, to the global phenomenon we all cherish today,” LL Cool J said. “Getting to bring some of the most iconic and influential Hip-Hop artists to the same stage, in my hometown and the city that started it all, is an honor and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store for them.”

Show host and Queens-born rapper Roxanne Shanté said, “The Rock The Bells festival is going to be different from any other festival you’ve attended, bringing great people, great vibes, and great music together to represent and celebrate the originality and greatness of Hip-Hop.”

Tickets for “Rock the Bells” can be purchased on the festival website, starting on Friday, April 10.
