Ice-T: It’s Been 20 Years & the Legendary Rapper Still Makes ACTING Look Easy

by

Okay so count’em …  20 … (TWENTY)  … years after taking on the role the no-nonsense detective on the NBC’s hit crime series Law & Order in 1999, rapper-turned-act0r Tracy Lauren Marrow, better known as Ice-T continues to be part of the Law & Order franchise.   And to think he signed on to do just 4 episodes!

He’s now part of the longest running scripted shows in television history.

The now 61-year old Ice -T tells BET that he considers himself  “lucky.”

“I’m lucky to be on a show now approaching 21 seasons.  The beauty of Law & Order is my real fan base matured with me as they watched it. So now all the girls who were at my concerts, they are mothers and they watch SVU.  If you are 20 years old, then I’ve been on Law & Order your whole life.”

Ice-T knew the Law & Order creator and producer since the  mid ‘90s when he appeared a drug kingpin  on the FOX classic New York Undercover.

All these years later, Ice-T looks as if he were made for acting.

As far as rapping goes, his last studio album, Gansta Rap  was released in 2006 and he did a collaboration album, Urban Legends’ with Black Ice in 2008.
