In emotional post, Tiffany Haddish recalls being homeless, hungry, scared and hurt

In a new Instagram post, the comedian and actress is reflecting on her tumultuous journey to superstardom, which she reveals was filled with some extremely rough days.

“I look at this picture and want to cry tears of joy for this Girl. I remember that night,” Haddish writes, captioning a photo of herself on stage at a comedy club. “She was homeless, hungry, scared, and hurt.”

She continued, “I promised her if she kept faith in God and Herself, We will get to a place where we will be Housed, Over Fed, Less Hurt and Fear Free. I am so Grateful that she Believed. I am so Happy we have come this far and excited about where we will Go.”

Haddish, who documented her early beginnings and rise as a comedian in her 2017 memoir The Last Black Unicorn, then shared some encouraging words to herself.

“Tiffany Sara Cornilia Haddish I Love and Approve of you and most of all God does too,” she added. “You are perfect enough for both of us right now and always.”

She added the hashtags, #SHEREADYFORSUCCESS, #ILoveYou,#SoHappyForYou,#DontWorryWhatTheyThink and #WorryWhatYouThink.

Fans were quick to comment on Haddish’s post, thanking the comedian for the inspiring words.

“You are the greatest actress and my biggest inspiration and so amazing, I love youuuuu,” wrote one fan.

“Oh damn girl there goes my Mascara, your story is so Inspirational,” commented another. “You are awesome and I Love how transparent you are with us, you don’t walk around with air up you butt like some others do when they make it and that’s what we Love about you, KEEP BEING U.”

On fan called Haddish’s words “a very powerful message” that they’d like to see on “billboards on highways.”
