The organizers of Record Store Day’s have announced that several rap acts & R&B legends are among the many newly announced artists who will be releasing collectible vinyl discs, inlcuding the Isley Brothers, Run-DMC, Earth Wind & Fire, Jimi Hendrix and Eazy-E’s “Merry Mutha*******’ Xmas,” you know, to get you into the holiday spirit.
Isley Brothers’ Groove with You… LIVE, comes in 180-gram blue-and-gold 12-inch vinyl and housed in a gatefold jacket, designed to look like a classic release from The Isley Brothers’ T-Neck discography.
Meanwhile, Run-DMC’s The Singles Collection will include the rap trio’s very best in reproductions of the original 12-inch issues from “back in the day.”
In addition, you can also score The Best of Earth Wind & Fire, as a 12-inch picture vinyl edition, featuring the original album’s classic cover emblem plus a die-cut insert.
