Tonight, Harry will be joined by Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes, Loretta Devine, LaTanya Richardson-Jackson and Blair Underwood for a live table reading of the beloved ‘80s sitcom 227.
Hosted by the Emmy-winning 227 alum, the virtual event is the third installment of the popular Zoom Where It Happens series. The goal of this episode is to spotlight and support PushBlack, which calls itself the nation’s largest non-profit media organization for Black Americans.
Directed by Christine Swanson, tonight’s event will feature Richardson-Jackson as Mary — the starring role played by Marla Gibbs in the series — Devine as the beloved Rose, Palmer as the nosy bougie neighbor, Sandra, Sykes as Pearl, and Blair Underwood as the voice of the male characters.
This installment comes after last month’s all-Black cast reading of Friends, hosted by Gabrielle Union, and an all-Black table read for The Golden Girls.
