KDS EntertainmentJacquees is doubling down on his “king of R&B” pronouncement — even if it means slighting veteran R&B crooner Keith Sweat in the process.
Saturday night, the Lost At Sea singer rubbed shoulders with Sweat backstage at a radio holiday show and things took a left turn rather quickly.
In footage captured by TMZ, of the awkward encounter, a camera man is seen approaching Sweat to hear his thoughts regarding Jacquees’ recent comments. But before the “Nobody” singer can relay his answer, he’s interrupted by a cry of surprise by someone in Jacquees’s camp, who alerts the Cash Money singer to the conversation that is taking place.
It doesn’t take long for Jacquees to rush to the camera and once more assert: “I’m the king.” He continues, “This the king from back then. I’m the king for right now. This Keith Sweat. Big Sweat. But, it’s ‘Big Q.’”
As soon as Jacquees is done, however, Sweat supplies the cameraman with a rebuttal of his own: “I’m still getting that bag. I don’t know what he’s talking about.”
Before dashing away, Jacquees offers one comment, reiterating, “I’m the king.” Sweat is left pondering what just took place, as his team advises TMZ to move along with their cameras.
But, it appears as though there were no hard feelings: Hours later, Jacquees shared a photo alongside Sweat via Instagram, along with the caption: “We got into it earlier, we family now.”
