Jamie Foxx Goes Hollywood for First New Album in Five Years

Image Courtesy RCA RecordsJamie Foxx announced Thursday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he’ll release his first new album in five years on May 18.

The title is Hollywood, featuring artwork that includes a giant replica of the “Hollywood” sign with his initials, “JF.” The CD will be available for pre-order May 4. The first single from the CD, “You Changed Me,” features Chris Brown.

Foxx has lined up several TV appearances to promote Hollywood, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, American Idol, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Today, and The Steve Harvey Show.

New York’s Apollo Theater also announced Friday that Foxx will promote the album live with a concert at the famed venue May 21. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.

“Jamie has been part of the Apollo family for many years,” said Jonelle Procope, President & CEO of the Apollo Theater in a press release. “It is always thrilling when one of the many artists who performed at the Apollo at the beginning of their development returns at important moments in their careers We are so happy to be able to be part of the celebration for the release of his new album. It is going to be a fun night!”
