Due to a sudden illness, Janelle Monae has canceled two out of five dates on the Australian and New Zealand leg of her Golden Electric Tour, Billboard reports.
According to a statement issued by promoters Live Nation Australasia, the singer was required to stay in Melbourne under medical supervision to assess her recovery. On Saturday, the singer was forced to cancel her Melbourne show at the last minute, even though her band was already set up. She stayed in Melbourne and canceled Monday night’s show in Sydney.
The nature of her illness has not been disclosed.
Live Nation is currently working on rescheduling the missed dates.
