Solaiman FazelJanet Jackson took over New York City over the weekend, celebrating her new single, “Made For Now,” and shocking people by riding the subway to a block party in Harlem.

Following the release of her new single, “Made for Now,” featuring Daddy Yankee on Friday, Janet joined the reggaeton star at a Harlem Week celebration on Saturday. Instead of riding in a limo or luxury SUV, they traveled to the event on the subway, as captured by her fan site, JanetJourney.

In Harlem, Janet was honored by the Chamber of Commerce at a block party. Later, she headed downtown to the Standard Hotel for a party celebrating the release of “Made For Now,” where her guests included Maxwell.

Miss Jackson posted a video from the event with the comment, “Had such a  fun release party last night! Thank u all for making me feel so special.”
