According to Women’s Wear Daily, Jackson has paired up with “close friend” and shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti, who’s designed a multicolored, high-top sneake, featuring a custom buckle.

Zanotti told the magazine of his collaboration with Jackson, “I have always felt the greatest affection for her. She has always been a very loyal supporter of the brand and product. She talked to me about her upcoming Unbreakable World Tour when we were together in Milan earlier this year, [and] she asked me to consider making her a special shoe for the tour,” Zanotti says. “Of course, I was…very flattered and I immediately started to sketch some ideas out for her.”

As Janet prepares for intense choreography, Zanotti made sure to design a shoe that was “very comfortable” so she would be “able to move around easily.” He adds, “The shoe has to be light but practical and provide support to her feet.”

In addition, Zanotti will also design the tour ensembles for Janet’s dancers and backing singers, which will mark his first time handling an entire tour. “We are frequently asked to provide special shoes for celebrities on tour, [but] this is the first time we are the only luxury shoe company involved,” he says.

Janet’s upcoming trek kicks off August 31 in Vancouver, BC and wraps March 9 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The tour will be in support of Janet’s upcoming album, thought to be titled Conversations in a Cafe, her first album in seven years.
