The business mogul threw his wife a surprise party at L.A.’s Hyde Lounge May 16, which was catered by Katsuya and featured “two beautiful cakes.”
“She was thinking they were going to have sushi and a simple date night,” a source tells E! News. “When she arrived in the venue with her husband and bodyguard, they escorted her to the patio where her closest friends and some family members were waiting for her with a big surprise!”
Jermaine Jackson was among those in attendance at the event, which was described as a “mellow” party where guests “were dancing until about 1:30 a.m.”
Janet’s birthday celebration came on the heels of her announcing she’s working on a follow-up album to 2008’s Discipline.
