Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable World Tour Delayed Until 2017

by

Rhythm Nation/BMGJanet Jackson‘s fans will have to wait until next year to see her return to the stage.

The singer, who was on the second leg of her Unbreakable World Tour, told fans in a video posted to Twitter last week that she and her husband, Wissam Al Mana, were “planning our family.” She added that doctors advised that she should rest.

Live Nation has since released a statement to Us Weekly, saying: “The Janet Jackson Unbreakable Tour in North America will be postponed until 2017. New dates will be announced at a later time, and tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds are also available at the point of purchase. Stay tuned to JanetJackson.com and LiveNation.com for further info.”

Jackson, who turns 50 in May, confirmed the report by sharing it on her Twitter account.

The Unbreakable World Tour, Jackson’s first tour since 2011, has been riddled with delays.

In December, the singer said she was postponing her tour due to an unspecified surgery. Jackson told fans then that she would return to the tour in the spring, but asked them to “please pray for me.” She even had to deny rumors that she had cancer.

Two weeks later, Jackson announced the dates for the rescheduled tour stops, which were slated to begin in May in Las Vegas.
