Paras Griffin/Getty Images for Tyler Perry StudiosJasmine Sullivan is opening up to fans about her recent hiatus.
In a new Instagram Story, Sullivan says she’s been dealing with a lot during her time away from music.
“So, I’ve been quiet for a min. And by a minute I mean 5 years,” Sullivan writes. “But I just recently experienced something that has rocked my world and turned it upside down. Life is funny like that.”
Although the Grammy-nominated singer doesn’t exactly go into what she’s been dealing with, Sullivan believes that her journey has helped to get her creative juices flowing.
“I’m almost sure it’s leading me on a path that will inspire an album,” she continues. “But for now an EP is on the way. Probably spring release. Love you all.”
Sullivan’s currently untitled EP will follow her last official album, 2015’s Reality Show, which featured the hit singles “Let It Burn” and “Masterpiece (Mona Lisa).”
