Heather Wines/CBSJennifer Hudson and Common have been tapped to take part in the first We Day Illinois, a global youth empowerment event that takes place later this month.
Organizers have announced that the entertainers will take stage on April 30 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The star-studded lineup includes Babyface, pop singer Selena Gomez, country group The Band Perry and singer Colbie Caillat, among others.
“We Day is one of the most uplifting celebrations I have ever experienced,” said Jennifer in a statement. “The energy at We Day is like nothing else, fueled by positive energy and amazing hearts. At We Day, young people are encouraged to keep reaching and striving for the changes they want to see — no dream is too big, no challenge too hard. I can’t wait to celebrate, honor and motivate the thousands of change-makers in my home state of Illinois.”
The upcoming event in Illinois is just one of many We Day events being held worldwide. You can’t buy a ticket, you must earn it by taking on one local and one global action — visit WeDay.com for more information.
