JAIRO CRUZJennifer Hudson shares a cover of the classic “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” produced by will.i.am.

The modern twist keep the same feel-good dance essence as the 1967 staple made famous by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in 1967.

Hudson’s rendition was featured in a Mastercard commercial that aired last month, in support of Black women-owned businesses. According to a press release, the ad was part of the company’s “Striver’s Initiative” and, “serves as the soundtrack to a visual journey featuring Black women-owned businesses from across the country who have faced adversity and challenge and continue to thrive.”

Jennifer Hudson has barely released new music as a solo artist since her 2014 album, JHUD. According to Instagram, the Grammy-winning vocalist is preparing to release new music for her loyal and patient fanbase soon.

“Team Jhud, You asked and Bosslady delivered!” she wrote in the caption, sharing the song’s cover art. “I love u and nothings gone keep me from getting to u! Far more music to come but until then I hope this lifts your spirit and your day as it do mine!”

Aside from music, Jennifer Hudson has starred in films, television series and musicals such as Dreamgirls, Sex and the City, Hairspray Live!, Fox’s Empire, Chi-Raq, CATS, as well as on Broadway in The Color Purple.

The Oscar-winner’s next role will be as the legendary Aretha Franklin in the upcoming biopic, Respect, of which Hudson is also an executive producer. As previously reported, the film may likely arrive this summer after several delayed releases due to COVID-19.
