Jennifer Hudson to Perform During American Idol Finale

ABC/Craig SjodinJennifer Hudson is returning to familiar territory. The singer has been confirmed to perform during the American Idol series finale, airing April 7 from the Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre.

According to Billboard, the singer will return to the Idol stage, where she finished in seventh place in season 3. Of course, she went on to be one of the show’s most successful “losers,” winning both a Grammy and an Oscar.

Hudson will be joined by fellow former American Idol contestants Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Jordin Sparks, Candice Glover, Kimberley Locke, and many more.

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the three-part American Idol finale will begin April 5 with the 90-minute retrospective American Idol: American Dream, followed by the final two episodes of American Idol, airing live at 8 p.m. April 6 and 7 on FOX.
