Trae Patton/NBCJennifer Hudson will star with Taylor Swift in a movie version of the iconic Broadway musical, Cats.
The film, based on the hit Andrew Lloyd Webber stage production, will be directed by Tom Hooper, Deadline.com reports. Hudson confirmed the news on Twitter, commenting on a meme, “I guess the CATS out of the bag!” The Grammy and Oscar winner will portray Grizabella, the former “Glamour Cat.”
The stage version is the fourth-longest-running show in Broadway history. It follows a tribe of cats called Jellicles, who hope to be chosen to be reborn into a new life.
The film will be shot in the United Kingdom this fall.
