Jhené Aiko takes a wild Trip in co-written short film

by

Isacc SterlingEven though Jhené Aiko‘s next album, Trip 17, remains in development, the singer has been keeping busy.

The artist released a short film she wrote called Trip, which fans can watch now on YouTube and on her official website.

A 26-second trailer for the visual shows Jhené as a character named Penny walking in a dream-like state on a path that takes her from a forest into a tunnel.

When she reaches the other side of the tunnel, Jhené is approached by a mysterious man who asks her to go on a trip with him.

She shakes her head with a slight smile, contemplating whether or not she should take the journey, and then the video ends.

Jhené revealed on Twitter that the script for Trip was written by her and Tracy Oliver, and that it features her original poetry as well.

Her forthcoming album, Trip 17, is Jhené’s follow up to her 2014 debut album, Souled Out.
