iStock/kjolakJodie-Turner Smith is starring in the romantic thriller Queen and Slim, and now Variety reports the actress is set to take on another action-packed film: Without Remorse, alongside Michael B. Jordan.
The film adaptation of the Tom Clancy novel finds Turner-Smith portraying Karen Greer, the daughter of CIA deputy director James Greer. Jordan will star as operations officer John Clark, aka John Terrence Kelly, a former Navy SEAL who goes to work for the CIA.
As Variety reports, the film will detail the backstory of how John Clark came to work for the CIA. The character has appeared in 17 Clancy novels, and Paramount intends to build a franchise around Jordan’s portrayal of Clark. He’s also sent to star in the adaptation of the Clancy novel Rainbow Six, with production scheduled for this year.
Without Remorse also stars Jamie Bell as CIA deputy director of operations Robert Ritter, who is integral in helping to recruit Jordan’s character into the federal agency.
