Joe Thomas Pays Homage to His Biggest Album Ever with #MyNameisJoeThomas

Gabe Ginsberg/FilmMagicJoe Thomas is bringing the feel of his ’90s ballads back on his new album, #MyNameisJoeThomas, which he says is inspired by his “biggest album ever.”

Thomas, who has has sold more than 15 million records and received multiple Grammy nominations, is confident that his twelfth album will be as good as his platinum-selling album, My Name Is Joe

“Here we are, album number twelve, #My Name Is Joe Thomas, which is really [an] homage to my biggest album ever, My Name is Joe,” the singer tells ABC Radio.  

“So I feel like the music quality and the song quality is on that level. I think it’s really well-written songs. Also it sort of represents to — even when I was in my young twenties at that time — it felt good, it felt young and it felt vibrant. And I feel this way about this album.”

For the singer, who began his career more than 20 years ago, learning his way around the music industry has been “eye opening,” but since he now understands the business, Joe says he has “more fun with creating the music.”

“It gives me more motivation to say, ‘You know what? Nah, I’m going to keep this thing going. I’m going to keep this alive,'” the singer tells ABC Radio.  

“So when I create songs, I’m creating to — in the aspect of I got to make the best songs possible. I got to go in here with songs blazing and try to impress the listeners. So it’s a beautiful task , it’s something that I embrace with open arms and I’m having a great time doing it. This is a journey that is now taking on different levels.”

#MyNameisJoeThomas is out today, November 11.
