John Legend is doubling down on his stance against R. Kelly, even if it means being labeled a “hypocrite” by the R&B crooner’s legion of fans.

Monday night, an old photo of the “All of Me” singer with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinsteinbegan making the rounds online, prompting some to wonder why he’s denounced Kelly and not Weinstein. The film producer is set to stand trial May 6 on sexual assault charges, but rumors of his behavior have been circulating for years.

Not one to hold his tongue, Legend took to Twitter to comment on the now-viral photo of him, his wife Chrissy Teigen and Weinstein.

“I took a photo with and worked with Harvey on several occasions before his abuse was known to me and the rest of the world,” he wrote. “Since his being exposed, his company and career have rightfully been destroyed and he’s been indicted. Sounds like something that should happen to R. Kelly.”

He continued, “If y’all wanna cape for R and discount all these women’s stories, just say it. Don’t bring up some old pics of me and somebody else.”

Legend appears in Lifetime’s shocking expose, Surviving R. Kelly, which analyzed the long-rumored history of alleged sexual misconduct by the singer. According to the docuseries’s executive producer Dream Hampton, the EGOT recipient was the only high-profile figure who agreed to participate.

Legend said his solidarity with Kelly’s accusers to be an “easy decision.”
