John Legend hosting Global Citizen Award ceremony featuring Jennifer Hudson and H.E.R.

ABC/Paula LoboJohn Legend is hosting the first Global Citizen Prize Award ceremony, featuring an all-star lineup.

People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” will also perform on the show, along with Jennifer Hudson, H.E.R., Raphael Saadiq, Sting, Chris Martin of Coldplay, and British rapper Stormzy.

The ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London on December 13 celebrates activists who are working to end extreme poverty. Awards will be presented in in five categories: World Leader, Artist, Business Leader, the Cisco Youth Leadership Award, and Global Citizen of the Year.

The event will be recorded to air December 20 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC. 

H.E.R. performed at the 2019 Global Citizen Festival on September 28 in New York City, which also featured Alicia Keys, Pharrell, French Montana and many others.

The Global Citizen organization is devoted to fulfilling the United Nations Global Goal to end extreme poverty by 2030.
