This weekend will see many entertainers realize their dream of winning a Oscar during the 88th Academy Awards. Many would agree that taking home hardware at the prestigious ceremony is a big deal, including John Legend, who won Best Original Song last year for “Glory” with Common, from the Selma soundtrack.
While promoting his new executive produced Underground series, the singer reflected on that career defining moment last February.
“Oh I’ll never forget that feeling I felt on stage, it was incredible,” Legend tells ABC Radio.
Legend also reminisced about his performance that night. “We saw the whole crowd just get caught up in that moment and people were about to tear and we know it wasn’t just because of us performing it was the whole moment and what the moment represented and for us to see that and feel that as we were performing,” he says. “I’ve never felt anything like it on stage before.”
The 88th Academy Awards will be broadcast on ABC on February 28.
