John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen only have months before they welcome their first child, but they still haven’t decided on a name for their baby girl, the singer revealed.
“We have a new name every day,” he told E! News. “We fall in love with it and then two days later we’re like no.”
The singer said he may have to wait until he meets his daughter to decide on her moniker. “They say sometimes you have to see the baby before you’re really sure,” he explained.
Legend also shared what type of father he plans to be. “I don’t think the idea that girls have to be protected from men and that girls can’t have their own sexual identity and freedom, I don’t like that idea so I don’t even want to think like that,” he said. “The idea that if it’s a girl, then we gotta put her in a cage, I don’t believe in that.
“You just want your kids to grow up with good values and respect themselves whether they’re a boy or a girl,” Legend added. “They’ll probably make mistakes and hopefully they’ll learn from them.”
The couple, who wed in 2013, announced last October that they were expecting their first child. There’s still no word on Teigen’s due date.
