Business WireJohn Legend had one busy weekend in his home state.
The 10-time Grammy award-winner performed at an event in support of Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in Cincinnati, Ohio Sunday night, reports Billboard.
Legend’s gig for Clinton, held at Bogart’s nightclub, featured the entertainer giving the audience “all of him,” via hits like “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” and “Used to Love U.”
He also gave an impassioned explanation of why he’s “with her.”
“We know how important it is that we elect Hillary Clinton our next president. We know how important it is that we don’t let Donald Trump any closer to the White House than that hotel down the street. He doesn’t deserve to lead this country,” declared Legend.
Legend’s performance came after his attendance at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held in honor of a theater named after the artist. The venue is called The John Legend Theater at the Springfield Center of Innovation: The Dome, according to the Dayton Daily News.
Speaking about his hometown of Cincinnati, Legend told a crowd of about 1,000 people during the ceremony, “I have so many fond memories of growing up here. I have so many fond memories of what the arts and creativity meant to me.”
Legend donated $500,000 for the theater’s development and completion.
