Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond have teamed up to bring some much-needed healing.

“In the midst of all this darkness, let’s celebrate light,” Franklin confirmed on Instagram. “[I’m] excited to join my brother, Fred Hammond, on Verzuz TV.”

Franklin shared a video clip from a Zoom conversation with co-creators Swizz Beatz and Timbaland and Bishop T.D. Jakes, discussing the first gospel edition of the Verzuz series, titled The Healing.

“This Sunday, let’s get together and cry out to heaven with praise, worship, and inspiration,” Hammond proclaimed on Instagram.

Hammond has a few hits under his belt, including “No Weapons Formed Against Me Shall Prosper,” “You Are the Living Word,” “Jesus Be a Fence Around Me,” and a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album for 2007’s Free to Worship.

Franklin will have us praising with hits like “I Smile,” “Revolution,” “Stomp,” “Why We Sing,” and “The Storm Is Over Now,” winning 16 career Grammys so far.

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland pledge to prevent any future sound issues on the series, following last week’s audio-challenged battle between Jagged Edge and 112. According to a new rule, artists are only allowed to use the technology sent by the Verzuz creators.

Tune in for a battle of healing on Sunday, May 31, at 5 p.m. EST.
