Jury Begins Deliberations in Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Trial

by

MichaelJackson.comDeliberations are underway in the Michael Jackson wrongful death trial. The Los Angeles jury on Thursday began the process of deciding whether concert promoter AEG Live is responsible for the actions of Dr. Conrad Murray, the man who gave Michael a deadly dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol.

Michael’s mother, Katherine, filed suit against AEG. The family is seeking 1.5 billion dollars. AEG claims Murray was Michael’s personal doctor and thus it was not responsible for his death.

Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Michael’s death.

Before the case was handed over to the jury, Jackson family attorney Brian Panish invoked the names of the singer’s three kids and his mother in declaring, “The fate of Prince Michael, Paris, Blanket and Katherine Jackson is in your hands and I know you’ll do the right thing.”

The trial has lasted nearly three months.
