Jussie Smollett’s sister says brother is standing in his truth and has got a lot in the works

ABC/Lorenzo BevilaquaJussie Smollett‘s siblings Jake and Jazz Smollett are sharing a rare update on the Empire star, who’s been out of the public eye since being accused of staging a hate crime against himself back in January.

“He’s doing well, he’s doing fine,” said Jazz in an interview with People Now. “He is strong, he is still thriving, and he’s still standing in his truth.”

Jazz also revealed that Jussie is almost ready to get back to work, and apparently has some projects lined up.

“He’s got a lot in the works, now. So, we’ll see,” she said. “There’s some stuff to come.”

Jussie’s sister also addressed recent comments made by Loni Love, who believes Smollett will eventually come forward to answer questions about the alleged hate crime and the Osundairo brothers, who reportedly helped him stage it.

“That’s gonna be up to him when he’s ready to do that,” Jazz said in response to when Jussie might talk about the incident. “Now the documents have been unsealed. So all of this information is out there. His story’s been corroborated four times over so people can look at the documents. So we’re happy about that as well.”

Jazz adds that throughout the entire ordeal, her family remains “strong” and supportive of their brother.

“It’s definitely been impactful in personal ways, but we’re a very strong family. We’re very close through anything, we’re there for each other,” she said. “Through whatever, in spite of whatever people are saying, we know the truth.”

As previously noted, Smollett was initially indicted on 16 counts of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report; all charges were eventually dropped. That decision will be reviewed by a special prosecutor, who will review the actions of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, whose office dropped the charges.
