Charles Sykes/BravoIt’s been nine years since Kandi Burruss dropped her second and most recent solo album, but now The Real Housewives of Atlanta star has revealed that she’s finally recording new music.
“I think that I am going to put together a little something,” she revealed Sunday on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “I was going to put together EP of songs. I’m just going into the studio, doing some fun stuff that I like and hopefully everybody else will like it.”
After recording three albums with Xscape, the singer released her debut solo album, Hey Kandi, in 2000. Her second solo album, Kandi Coated, dropped in 2010.
“I don’t plan on writing everything this time around,” she told Cohen. “I have some of my writers that I work with. They’re coming up with some songs ’cause I want to try some different stuff. So, this week I’m gonna be going to the studio.”
The 42-year-old singer recently toured with Xscape, but wasn’t involved in the group’s latest EP, Here for It, which dropped in 2018.
