It was a post on Twitter by Kanye West Saturday night that racked up about 200,000 likes in less that an hour. By this writing on Sunday afternoon (7//5/20), over 480,000 Yeezy followers had clicked like on a post in which he announced his intentions to run for president:

It’s for sure considered a last minute announcement for West. We don’t know if he’s serious or not but the he has missed every single state filing deadline to run as a Democrat or Republican; not to mention, primary season is nearly over. Deadlines to run as an Independent have closed in at least six states including some key battlegrounds like New York and Texas.
Celebrities had alot to say about the announcement.
Actress, Octavia Spencer wasn’t having it, tweeting, “It’s obvious some people live in a bubble, time to bust it.
