Kanye West recording ‘Jesus Is King’ sequel with Dr. Dre

ABC/Randy Holmes A historic collaboration is underway.  Kanye West is now recording the follow-up to his number-one gospel album, Jesus Is King, with the legendary Dr. Dre

Yeezy tweeted a photo in the studio with The Chronic rapper/producer and commented, “Ye and Dre Jesus is King Part II coming soon.” The Death Row Records co-founder posted the same photo and caption on his Instagram.

This news come after Kanye announced on Sunday that he is performing a brand-new Opera, called Nebuchadnezzar, November 24 at the Hollywood Bowl.

Kanye also recently said on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show that he planned to release another gospel album, titled Jesus Is Born, on Christmas Day.

Dre, who has produced music for a who’s who of hip-hop, including Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem, as well as Dre’s former group, N.W.A, will be honored by the Recording Academy on January 22. His iconic career will be celebrated at the 13th annual Producers & Engineers Wing Grammy Week celebration at Village Studios in Los Angeles.
