Kelly Rowland is taking a hands on role in her BET reality show, Chasing Destiny. Before the shoe premieres next month, the signer has released an lengthy preview into her competition series, designed to find the next big girl group.
In the 30-second snippet, Kelly tells viewers exactly what she’s looking for. “I don’t care how many likes you get on social media, I want a star,” she tells the aspiring contestants. “I don’t care if you think you sound great in the shower, that doesn’t mean you’re goign to make it here. You may think success happens when preparation meets opportunity but to make it here you have to believe in more than success.”
She warns, “Not every one will make it, ” but adds: “when something is destined to be, nothing can stop it.”
“Get ready to experience the journey of the next big girl group!” she tweeted.
Chasing Destiny premieres April 5 at 10 p.m. ET on BET. Frank Gatson, who has a long association with Rowland, Beyonce and other female music stars, will serve as the new series’ creative director/choreographer.
