iStock/RichLeggKelly Rowland is headed back to the small screen — just in time for the holiday season.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Rowland will star in the upcoming Lifetime holiday movie, Merry Liddle Christmas. The film, which is said to be inspired by Rowland’s “own recent Christmas catastrophe,” will star the singer as Jacquie, a successful single tech entrepreneur.
Jacquie invites her dysfunctional family over to her new home for Christmas, but of course, things don’t go as planned. The plot involves a video shoot depicting the “perfect Christmas,” and romance is also in the air, courtesy of a neighbor.
Rowland is slated to produce the film alongside her husband, Tim Weatherspoon.
Merry Liddle Christmas is one of 28 original movies to be released by Lifetime during the holiday season as part of “Its a Wonderful Lifetime” campaign. The campaign will run seven days a week from October 25 through December 25. Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Kyla Pratt, and Keshia Knight Pulliam are also slated to star in the holiday lineup.
This is the latest project for Rowland, who recently guest-starred in A Black Lady Sketch Show and L.A.’s Finest, and portrayed Gladys Knight in BET’s Soul Train-inspired drama American Soul.
