Kerry Washington to executive-produce ‘Live in Front of a Studio Audience’ for holiday TV event

ABC/ Heidi GutmanKerry Washington is getting behind the camera for the next installment of the Live in Front of a Studio Audience franchise from Norman Lear and Jimmy Kimmel.

ABC Studios announced on Wednesday that it will air holiday-inspired episodes of All in the Family and Good Times on Wednesday, December 18.

The classic sitcom episodes, recreated for the live event, will reunite executive producers Norman LearJimmy KimmelBrent MillerWill Ferrell and Justin Theroux.  Earlier this year, they produced live recreations of episodes of The Jeffersons and All In the Family.

This time around, Washington, who portrayed Helen Willis in The Jeffersons episode, will serve as an executive producer. There’s no word on whether she’ll reprise her role.

The first Live in Front of a Studio Audience was nominated for three Emmy Awards, and took home the prize for Outstanding Variety Special (Live). The special starred Woody Harrelson and Marisa Tomei as Archie and Edith Bunker and Jamie Foxx and Wanda Sykes as George and Louise Jefferson.
