Kirk Franklin debuts powerful music video for Strong God

by

RCA RecordsKirk Franklin has unveiled a powerful new video for his song, ”Strong God,” to raise funds for COVID-19 relief. LONG LIVE LOVE

The video features the song’s thought-provoking lyrics while shedding light on issues such as racism, poverty, drug addiction, domestic violence, and COVID-19 through imagery.

Franklin announced the video during Sunday’s gospel rendition of the Verzuz series, wanting to “salute the people that are standing on the front line on so many levels during this pandemic, we have several pandemics at one time.”

Franklin and Fred Hammond offered hope and healing to 275,000 viewers at home on Instagram Live, with an opening prayer from Bishop T.D. Jakes, who reminded us to stand strong in the fight against COVID-19 and police brutality, while combating suicide and depression during this time.

The battle offered a moment of healing for the black community while acknowledging fallen victims such as George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and more, followed by appearances from gospel powerhouses Marvin SappTamela Mann, and Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, via phone.
