Kirk Franklin’s Love Theory remains atop ‘Billboard”s Hot Gospel Songs chart for 25th consecutive week

by

Christian Lantry/RCA InspirationKirk Franklin is maintaining his stronghold of the top slot on Billboard‘s Hot Gospel Songs with his latest effort “Love Theory.”

This feat marks a milestone for the seasoned vocalist, considering the track is Franklin’s second single to top the tally for at least 25 weeks following 2015’s “Wanna Be Happy?,” Billboard reports.  Franklin now joins Marvin Sapp as the only other act to secure a pair of number ones on the chart that led for 25 weeks each. Sapp earned the recognition with “Never Would Have Made It” in August 2007 and “The Best In Me” in March 2010.

In addition, “Love Theory” is also a number one contender on Billboard‘s Gospel Digital Song Sales chart for its 21st week in a row as well as the Gospel Airplay tally for a 14th week in a row.

Meanwhile, Franklin continues his Long Live Love tour tonight in Maryland at the MGM National Harbor.
