According to Deadline, La La Anthony will executive-produce and star in Intercepted, an NFL wife drama based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Alexa Martin.
The series, described as a “funny and fresh contemporary” romance, follows Anthony as Marlee Harper, a “perfect girlfriend.” However, when her relationship ends, she “vows to never date an athlete again” — until she meets the new star quarterback in town.
The new series falls under 50’s first-look deal with Starz. The rapper-turned-TV mogul confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing an image of Anthony and the announcement by Deadline.
“Tick Tick BOOM,” he wrote. “You thought I was bullshi*****. I’m working over here people, oh and New Music on the way.”
This is the latest project for Anthony, who recurs on 50’s Starz crime drama Power. Meanwhile, 50 has quite a few projects lined up, including two new series in development at Starz: Black Mafia Family and Vanguard.
