Jason Clark FotoShe concluded her supporting appearance on Fantasia‘s The Definition Of tour last fall, and now La’Porsha Renae is set for the arrival of her debut album, Already All Ready, this month.

The American Idol runner-up tells ABC Radio that the 13-track album features production by Harmony Samuels, who has worked with Fantasia, Ariana GrandeChris Brown and MAJOR, the latter of whom she views as a big brother figure.

“He took me under his wing and taught me a lot, but he’s also my vocal producer on the album,” she says. Of Major and Samuels both, she adds, “I’m really excited that I got to meet them and we kinda, you know, hit it off and it’s gonna be a great album.”

La’Porsha says that her album features sounds that are traditional.

“I think it’s soul. And I think it’s bold. I would like to think and say that I sing with a lot of conviction. I sing with purpose. So, my sound is more or less just old-school soul,” she adds.

And speaking of traditional, the vocalist cites some pretty big names among her musical influences.

Already All Ready arrives March 31.
