Silas Vassar IIILeToya Luckett is a grown woman now, and she wants all her fans to know that with her third album, Back 2 Life, which has finally arrived everywhere today.

LeToya tells ABC Radio, “I was kinda just, kinda finding myself in the first two albums. With this one, I’m very clear and confident in the woman that I am today. You’ll see a different side of Toya on this album.”

LeToya’s newfound confidence caught the attention of legendary superstar Dionne Warwick, who hand-picked LeToya as the lead in the Warwick’s forthcoming biopic, Dionne.

The “Torn” singer is well aware of the huge honor and responsibility that portraying Dionne brings.

“These are some big, huge shoes to fill. And I’m nervous,” says LeToya. “We had a little studio session a couple of months back and we were finding keys for the songs and we were just playing her music…so she was trying to see what keys were a better fit for me in the song… and it was just amazing to see her at work. It really, really was. I was shaking.”

Nerves aside, LeToya appreciates Warwick’s faith in her. “Even today I’m, it’s still taken aback by it ’cause she’s such an icon,” LeToya says.  “And I’m so thankful and grateful for what she’s done for women, especially black women in the entertainment business. She’s opened up so many doors.”
