Lionel Richie to dip his hands and feet in cement at Hollywood’s TLC Chinese Theatre next month

by

ABC/Alfonso BrescianiLionel Richie will join a long list of celebrities when he puts his handprints and footprints into cement at a March 6 ceremony held at Hollywood’s famous TCL Chinese Theatre, formerly known as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. The landmark movie house opened in 1927 and is located at 6925 Hollywood Blvd.

“Oh my God this is absolutely incredible,” says Richie, who late last year was among the artists celebrated at the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C. “This is my Hollywood dream come true. Of all the Hollywood awards, this is the one I can share with the public forever.” Lionel also was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame back in 2003.

The ceremony at TCL Chinese Theatre will take place five days before Richie makes debut as a judge on the rebooted version of American Idol, which premieres March 11 on ABC.

Meanwhile, Lionel is scheduled to begin a new series of shows as part of his Las Vegas residency at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood March 9. The run also includes performances on March 10, 13, 16, 17 and 20.
