Atlantic RecordsLizzo received an outpouring of love for her breakout Cuz I Love You album on Wednesday as she led all artists with eight Grammy nominations.
The singer/rapper’s nominations include Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Truth Hurts,” as well as Best New Artist.
“I’m on a flight to the States I’m finna drink champagne and cry happy tears of appreciation and love,” Lizzo wrote in her Instagram story. “We are all winners.”
Cuz I Love You is up for Album of the Year, and Best Urban Contemporary Album. Lizzo is also nominated for Best R&B Performance for “Exactly How I Feel,” and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Jerome.”
The Hustlers star continued her celebration on Twitter, tweeting, “THIS HAS BEEN AN INCREDIBLE YEAR FOR MUSIC AND IM JUST SO THANKFUL TO EVEN BE PART OF IT.” She added, “I LOVE YOU. LETS HAVE A WONDERFUL BLESSED DAY.”
Lizzo hopes that January 26 is a “wonderful blessed day” when the Grammy Awards are broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS.
She’s also looking forward to Sunday night when she’s up for three honors, including New Artist of the Year, at the American Music Awards which airs live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
