Mariah Carey Announces First-Ever Show in Israel

by

Denise Truscello/WireImage Mariah Carey is saying shalom to Israel. The pop diva has announced she’ll be performing her first-ever concert in the country next month.

In a video shown at a Tel Aviv press conference this week, Mariah says, “Shalom Israel, I will be coming to see you live on August 18, so come to see me! Shalom.”

Mariah will be playing the Rishon Lezion Live Park Amphitheater in Tel Aviv. Tickets went on sale Wednesday.

“It’s just a one-time concert,” The Times of Israel quoted concert promoter Lia Luzon as saying. “She was excited about Israel and was happy to come and perform here, and we were able to meet her and arrange this.”

Lia added, “It’s not the Vegas show. It’s a specific show that will be done here; you could say it will be created for us.”

According to TMZ, Mariah is being paid $500,000 for the gig.

Her concert announcement comes a month after she visited Israel with her Australian businessman boyfriend, James Packer, and her twins, Monroe and Moroccan. They were photographed at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sarah.
