Mark Cant/Fox Mariah Carey has been a musical superstar for quite some time, but now she’s finally being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The singer will claim the 2,556th star on August 5, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. PT. Guest speakers at the ceremony will include Mariah’s label boss L.A. Reid, her frequent music video collaborator Brett Ratner and her director on the movie Precious, Lee Daniels.
The honor is a long time coming for Mariah, who is the best-selling female artist of all time with more than 200 million albums reportedly sold to date worldwide and 18 Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles. Her star will be dedicated in front of the W Hollywood Hotel at 6270 Hollywood Boulevard.
This weekend, Mariah completed the second leg of her Las Vegas residency, #1 to Infinity. She’ll return to Caesars Palace for another string of dates in February.
