ABC/ Lou RoccoMary J. Blige wants you to take three minutes out of your time to vote this election season.
The celebrated singer is collaborating with media company attn: and their 3 Minutes video campaign to encourage voter registration, reports Entertainment Tonight.
“I grew up in a housing project. We were constantly fighting for our lives to survive. I was not excited to vote, but when I realized that I had a voice, I spoke,” says Blige in a video streaming exclusively onET.
“Voting is important because who I select as president is going to affect me. It only takes three minutes to register to vote. What do you have three minutes for?” she asks viewers.
The vocalist got mixed reactions for serenading Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton with Bruce Springsteen‘s “American Skin (41 Shots)” for her upcoming show The 411 with Mary J. Blige.
