ABC/ Ida Mae Astute”Queen of Hip Hop Soul” Mary J. Blige is headlining this year’s free Wawa Welcome America concert on July 4, for the first time ever, in Philadelphia, PA.
The nine-time Grammy-winning artist, whose single “U + Me (Love Lesson)” recently became her second #1 track from her forthcoming album, Strength of a Woman, is premiering her Strength of a Woman: An Album Documentary film on VH1 May 2.
The visual will feature exclusive interviews with the superstar along with a information on how the new album was made.
Philadelphia’s very own Boyz II Men will also appear at the Wawa Welcome America six-day festival that same day at the “Celebration of Freedom Ceremony.” The R&B group’s musical legacy and philanthropic contributions will be honored by the City of Philadelphia at the event.
