ABC/ Lou RoccoBriana Latrise Isaacs, daughter of Mary J. Blige‘s soon to be ex-husband, Kendu Isaacs, is jumping to her father’s defense, saying she’s doesn’t “understand why everyone is acting like he’s not entitled to alimony.”

In an interview with the Official AO, Briana responds to the question of whether she feels the media has been treating her family unfairly.

“Maybe this is some grand life lesson from the Universe… for the both of them,” Briana begins. “I think that it’s interesting to me how people talk about my father like he never did anything lol. Like he’s begging for money out of nowhere.”

Isaacs, who stars on WeTV’s Growing Up Hip Hop then adds, “They were together for 17 years, he managed her career, I don’t understand why everyone is acting like he’s not entitled to normal alimony or maintenance. Lol. Seriously. I don’t know. I think people are weird. I never understood society.”

As previously reported, Mary’s ex, Kendu had filed for temporary spousal support, requesting that the singer pay him $129,319 per month.  Kendu claimed that Mary had been the official breadwinner during their twelve-year marriage, and he had grown accustomed to their lifestyle.
