Noam Galai/WireImageMaxwell premiered his “Lake by the Ocean’ video Thursday on EssenceLive.
The sensuous six-minute clip, shot in Haiti and the Dominican Republic by Philip Andelman, follows a young woman carrying jugs of water for her community. After her exhausting work, she enjoys an intimate performance by Maxwell, and a romantic rendezvous. Maxwell says of the video, it “depicts a world in need of water and two clandestine lovers who meet with liquid dreams, one being the bare boned need for clean water, and another, the performer, who wants to be lost in the watery worlds of love and devotion.”
The two-time Grammy Award winner also unveiled the track list and cover art for his blackSUMMERS’night album which will be released July 1.
