McConaughey: Coronavirus is ‘faceless, raceless, sexless … an enemy that we have to beat’

Actor Matthew McConaughey is among many celebrities to spread the important message of the need for ‘social distancing’ during the new coronavirus pandemic.  Texas Governor Greg Abbott released a PSA featuring the Academy Award winning actor

“Over 500,000 brave Texas hospital and EMS professionals are on the front lines of the coronavirus, answering the call that requires them to leave their homes,” McConaughey says in the ad. “You can answer the call too, by staying home if you can.”

Aside from the public service announcement, McConaughey dropped some real words of wisdom about the virus from the comforts of his own home.

“We have an enemy in coronavirus that is faceless, raceless, sexless, non-denominational and bi-partisan and it’s an enemy that we all agree that we’re gonna be, we have to beat … ”

He goes on to say that this pandemic could be the one thing that brings us all together.
