McDonald’s Worker Snatched by Customer Lawyers Up

by

The young woman at the center of a viral video showing a man gangster snatching her from the service counter of a McDonald’s restaurant in Florida, is speaking out about the ordeal.   The video also shows  20-year old Yasmine James aggressively throwing punches at the man in “self-defense,”  as she put the boxing lessons she has received since age 14 to use.

James, who has been placed on paid leave while they investigate,  is pointing the finger at the McDonald’s manager who she says did nothing to calm the situation. And says she had to call the police herself.

“I don’t think people took it so seriously,” James, who is 20 years old, told The Grio.

“Just because I am a Black woman and he was a white man that assaulted me. Like, ‘Okay, she fought this man, let’s go back to work. Don’t call the police because this is normal.’ It was just going to go under the rug.”

The man, 40-year old Daniel Willis Taylor who claims that all he wanted was a straw, was arrested and charged with battery.

McDonald’s reportedly invited her back to work, but she says that she doesn’t feel safe. She has retained the services of two Florida lawyers as the as proceeds through the courts.
