Megan Thee Stallion is giving hot girl vibes on the September/October cover of Essence magazine.

In the new issue, the Houston rapper opens up about why she prefers to remain guarded and keep a small team around her.

“There are probably approximately four people around me on a daily basis,” Megan tells Essence. “I don’t see a lot of people, I don’t talk to a lot of people, because I feel like it’s not good for me. I figured out that my personal space is what keeps me balanced and it’s what keeps me centered.”

Aside from protecting her personal space, Megan is also reluctant to share specific details about her forthcoming album, which she teases will be “aggressive.”

“I feel like this project is definitely something very well thought out,” she says. “This project is me talking my s***, getting back comfortable with myself, getting back to the Megan that was on the come-up.”

Megan says her evolution as an artist won’t stop there. The 26-year-old also wants to grow and develop as an artist.

“Every time I make a move, I’m like, ‘Okay, how can we be better than Megan last month?’” she says. “‘How can we be better than Megan last year?’”

The September/October 2021 cover of Essence, featuring Megan Thee Stallion, hits newsstands August 23.
